Using Voice ID
What is Ideal Voice ID?
Ideal Voice ID allows you to use your unique voiceprint for secure identification when calling Ideal Credit Union's Contact Center, just as you might use a fingerprint to unlock your phone.
What is a voiceprint?
A voiceprint is a set of traits unique to your voice pattern. It is created using more than 100 physical and behavioral voice characteristics, such as pitch, accent and the shape and size of your vocal tract.
Can I opt out of Voice ID?
Yes, you can opt out of Voice ID at any time. However, Voice ID is a secure and efficient way to verify your identity over the phone.
Will Voice ID still work if my voice changes due to a cold?
In most cases, slight changes to your voice caused by a cold or illness will not affect Voice ID. In rare cases where it does, Ideal Credit Union will verify your identity using alternative methods until your voice returns to normal.
How do I start using Voice ID?
You don't need to take any specific action to start using Voice ID. The next time you call Ideal Credit Union's Contact Center at (XXX) XXX-XXXX, we will create your voiceprint while assisting you.
Can my voiceprint be stolen?
No, your voiceprint cannot be stolen because it is not a recording. Voiceprints are a mathematical representation of the biometric and behavioral features of your voice. They consist of a series of numbers that cannot be used to reconstruct your actual voice.
Is IDA secure to use?
Yes, IDA is secure. The chat version of IDA uses the same authentication processes as Ideal Credit Union's digital banking to verify your identity. Over the phone, IDA uses Voice ID or alternative verification methods if needed.
How do I set up biometrics on the mobile app?
To set up biometrics on the Ideal Credit Union mobile app, first ensure biometrics are enabled for the Ideal app in your device settings. Then, enable biometrics on the login screen of the Ideal mobile app. Biometrics options may vary depending on your device.
Why is biometrics not working?
Biometrics might not work if you are trying to log in to a joint account. Each account can only be linked to one Face ID or fingerprint for security reasons.

At Ideal Credit Union, we’re always thinking about what’s next in digital banking. You can now connect face-to-face with financial advisors through your mobile device using Ideal Live, or ask Alexa for information about Ideal Credit Union.
How do I find my username?
If you use biometric login for the Ideal Credit Union mobile app, you can find your Ideal ID by selecting "Documents & Statements." Your Ideal ID is listed near your name. Alternatively, you can locate your Ideal ID on:
1. Your account statements
2. Your Ideal Membership ID card
3. The welcome letter emailed to you via DocuSign when you joined online.

Can IDA help me open a new membership?
Yes! IDA can direct you to the online membership application to become an Ideal Credit Union Member.
What information do I have to give in order to use IDA?
Depending on your request, IDA may ask for additional information to best answer your questions. This may include authentication questions.
Can IDA answer my loan application questions?
IDA can direct you to the department that your application is associated with, but cannot provide you with status updates at this time.
Can I speak with a live member service representative if my question can’t be answered?
Yes, if IDA cannot answer your question, during business hours you will be given the option to call or chat with a Contact Center representative.
Which account functions can IDA help with?
IDA is currently able to help with:

Will IDA authenticate my account before revealing private information?
Yes, when you use IDA to view any personal account information, you will be asked for your account number and the last four digits of your social security number. You will then receive a code via text or email that you’ll use to log in.
Do you keep a record of my conversations with IDA?
IDA does keep a record of conversations with members.
How do I skip using IDA? I only want to speak to a live person.
If you prefer not to use IDA, you can speak to a representative by following the prompts. You may also chat during normal business hours.
Can IDA help me over the phone when I call Ideal Credit Union's toll-free number?
Yes, IDA can answer your basic account questions and can provide responses via text message too.
