No Text Message is Worth a Life

Distracted driving causes thousands of preventable injuries and traffic deaths every year in America. And we are asking for your help to make a difference.

Ideal Credit Union has launched a don't text and drive awareness campaign designed to call attention to the dangers of distracted driving and encourage members and the public to take a pledge to put the phone away when they get behind the wheel. The "Stop the Texts, Stop the Wrecks” campaign consists of 15 and 30 second TV ads on Twin Cities stations WCCO and KSTP, an online pledge at idealcu.com, and efforts to increase awareness through our social media channels. The two ads can also be found on Ideal CU’s YouTube page.

Regardless if you are texting, doing your makeup, eating or playing PokemonGO while behind the wheel – you are putting yourself and the lives of every other driver and pedestrian at risk. It is simply not worth the risk to yourself and others.

By taking the pledge, drivers agree to not text while operating a vehicle, keep your eyes on the road at all times and encourage others to help end distracted driving.

Don’t be a part of the problem, become a part of the solution. Put your phone away while driving and encourage your family, friends and loved ones to do the same. The families of victims and future generations will thank you.
